| Once you've signed up for hosting with Web Hosting Spot, we provide you with a temporary domain name. Move the files from your old host to your Web Hosting Spot hosting account. Then using the temporary domain name, make sure that your site is working the same way it worked on your old host without any problems.
Once you've verified that it's working, contact your old hosting company to deactivate your account with them. If you are transfering your site be sure to get a copy of it from your old hosting company first. Once the transfer is initiated it can take from one two two four hours for the change to take effect.
If you had any email accounts setup on your old hosting account, you can use your control panel to create these same accounts on your Web Hosting Spot hosting account to ensure that you still receive email at those addresses. If you're using a third party email program such as Outlook or Thunderbird Mail, change your incoming and outgoing mail server to the servers listed in your Web Hosting Spot welcome email. If your previous web host used any web based email system to check your mail, you can still use this method using our web based email system by following the link from your Web Hosting Spot welcome email.
If you have any problems with any of these steps, email us at support@WebHostingSpot.com and we'll help you get your website moved over the best we can!
